“Whoever is going to be responsible for governing the United Kingdom, he or she should be clear on the fact that an “all or nothing” strategy does not have the support of the British people. My hope is that the Brexit negotiations can now be conducted more reasonably and dispassionately. But the clock is ticking, so transitional arrangements based on the status quo are indispensable in order to avoid disruption for all of Europe.”
